lost in communication...

I had been walking through this desert for quite a few hours now. The empty howls of the wind and the falling sand were the only sounds you could turn your head to.  The scorching heat was starting to get to me; my eyes began to play tricks. My throat, dried and scratched, yearned for water. I didn’t know the direction in which I was headed. The only thought that resonated in my head was to walk forward. My heart was filled with hope but my limbs, sadly, were filled with pain. Finally, another thought entered my mind, and it said “You’ve been working so hard, why don’t you rest your head for a while, why don’t you give up?”I willingly listened to what it had to say for all the hope had left my body. I threw myself under a dune and closed my eyes. I was so exhausted that the second my head hit the sandy ground, I fell into an enchanting sleep, hoping that I never have to open my eyes again...

I woke up with a start and found myself in an open tent, made from old fabric.  Surprised at what had happened, I looked around and found a boy sitting next to me. Still taking in what had happened I asked the boy, "Who are you and why did you bring me here?" The boy didn't reply and just sat there with a rather confused look on his face. Then he started to speak, but I didn't understand a word as it was in a language I didn't know. I had found someone in this lonely hell but It was of no use as we didn't understand each other. There we sat, in eerie silence, lost in communication...
